Who am I?
About a dozen years ago, but not yet a quarter of a century, chance allowed me to cover an intimate wedding. A complete novice at the time, I quickly took pleasure in sneaking in, dodging, but also accompanying and reassuring, and above all capturing unique moments. It became an obvious choice for me.
I took my first steps as a photographer in the Oise region, which is why you can find me there under my name www.stephane-auvray.fr. Then nostalgia and the lack of sea spray brought me back to my native land.
12 years have gone by, over 200 weddings, and each time I enjoy it just as much. A wedding is fun, a celebration, a moment of conviviality that I never tire of. For me, photographing these moments is a real opportunity, a chance to take part in moments that are full ofemotion, sometimes comical, smiles and joy... We have to admit, though, that there are probably more unpleasant situations, even if you sometimes need to be in good physical condition, knowing that this job isn't limited to taking photos (I've even been known to ring church bells).
And then there are the portraits, those more intimate but equally intense moments in life. Discovering people and their stories, whether for individual, family or business photos, is as much fun as it is demanding. These are moments when the photographer needs to know how to adapt and make himself available to the expectations and needs of customers, to put them at ease and bring out their whole personality in just a few shots.
My approach is that of reportage: to be discreet when necessary, present and very close for the crucial moments of your day. I'll be there to capture emotions, moments of life, important moments. The reportage will revolve around you and your guests, but there will be very few posed moments (apart from group or couple photos, for which I'll help you to feel at ease), to emphasize spontaneity and authenticity.

My approach
I've developed my photography skills and experience in various regions, but above all by visiting various locations in Brittany and the Trégor region.
From the first moments of the day, when the hairstyle is being put in place, to the end of the evening when you open the night, I'll be with you to your wedding discreetly, making sure I blend into the decor while remaining present.
I'll make sure the shots are as spontaneous as possible. I'm used to being present where I'm not expected, to give you moments you may have missed, to enter into your intimacy while being discreet and avoiding photos that would make you feel uncomfortable.
Being a wedding photographer means knowing how to be both absent and omnipresent.
As a professional wedding photographer, all the equipment I use is doubled up in case of unforeseen circumstances, and I've built up good enough relationships with my colleagues to offer an alternative in perilous situations (which don't happen, I assure you).

For me as a wedding photographer in Brittany, a reportage means telling a story that begins with the first light of day and ends with the arrival of the stars.
As far as possible, I prefer full-day coverage, but I'm also available for shorter sessions such as ceremonies, couple or group sessions.

The days after the wedding

What's the difference?
This allows us to have two points of view, two complementary covers for all the crucial moments of the day (a bride's view as she enters the church vs. a groom's view, dedicated preparations on each side without having to divide up, guests' reactions during key elements, two-person work on the dance floor for unusual photos).
